It all began with a 1984 IBM personal computer, curiosity, and a wild imagination.

Growing up, there were three things Christina enjoyed doing the most - reading books, talking with her imaginary friends, and asking adults questions about all of the curious things that crossed her mind. She needed to understand how everything worked, why it worked, who made it work, etc. When she didn’t get answers to her questions, she’d sit there and think. Her imagination would take a ride on the scariest, most intense roller coaster you could imagine and she would create scenarios in her head to help explain whatever it was that no one else could.

At the age of ten, she graduated from writing down her silly thoughts in her diary to using her dad’s old 1984 IBM PC that probably weighed more than she did at the time. There was no ethernet cord attached to this computer and WiFi didn’t exist at this time, so she spent her time playing endless rounds of Minesweeper and Solitaire, which can get very boring very quickly if you’re familiar. That boredom paved the path for her to begin exploring a new hobby that would quickly dominate her life. She started to write about everything that her brain imagined. Once she started, she couldn’t stop.

Over the course of the next twenty years, writing became her solace. It provided her with a safe space to unleash whatever emotions, thoughts, and curiosities she had. It wasn’t until a 2019 layoff that she decided, ten pages into writing a short story, that she had a fantastic idea she wanted to develop and share with others. She fell in love with the idea from day one. The story took her almost five years to complete in the midst of handling full time and part time jobs, volunteer work, adventures around the world, and spending time with loved ones, especially her needy tuxedo cat, Robert.

Christina currently resides in Brooklyn, NY where she can be found either in a cozy cafe or the local library working on part two of what will be the next book in the Under the Carpet series. She is excited to see where Under the Carpet takes her, knowing it will be a bumpy, competitive, and emotional journey, that she’s ready for.
